Our Partners and Funding

LLDC and L&Q

To make our project financially feasible we have teamed up with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) who are the main developers on the Olympic Legacy site in Stratford as well as London and Quadrant (L&Q) who are the main residential developers in the Olympic site in Stratford.

The LLDC and L&Q have given us funding for this programme because it is in line with the Olympic values of education, inclusion and empowerment, which they strive to uphold in the legacy of the games. Both believe that our project can achieve the aims and ethos we have set out regarding knife crime.

By developing a site in Stratford which is only 20 minutes away from the site both feel they have an obligation to give back to the communities they are regenerating.

Art Fund and Rosetta Arts Centre

Rosetta Arts Centre have agreed to lend us one of their professional light installation artists Javier Bulldroch.

Arts Fund believes in art projects that encourage community engagement, henceforth they have teamed up with Rosetta Arts Centre to ensure this project is a success.

Newham Council and Community Researchers (brokers)

To understand the local area better Newham council has a set of Community Researchers who are able to retrieve excellent information regarding the community. For example Elias is a British-Morrocan football coach who grew up in London, last year Newham council were able to identify that young people felt uncomfortable to play in sports pitches in all but two of those provided by the council. This quality of information is only retrievable through a system of brokers.

We have tapped into this resource to identify young people who are at risk of falling into knife and gang culture but are not labelled as ‘at-risk’ by the local authorities.

Research Case Study Camarados

Camarados have started a very successful project called the ‘Public Living’ rooms in which they have worked with people in vulnerable situations but managed to create an environment in which those very people started to heal themselves. The project isn’t a fixing project.

The founder has identified two main objectives that can help prevent a person from unfavourable situations; the first is a sense of purpose and the second is friends.

We have tried to uphold these values within our own Aims and Ethos.
